Job Role: Personal Assistant (PA) x 2 - Based in Cambridge
Hours: Part time. 10-14.5 per week (+possible overtime)
Rate of pay: £9.80 - £11.20 per hour
Reports to: Fran Williamson (PA user)
Closing date: 20th February 2012
Successful candidates will be working with an extremely busy and independent 26 year old woman with cerebral palsy. This is a potentially exciting role that will see you assisting with everyday tasks, as well as some “out of the ordinary” tasks.
A little about me:
Having recently retired as a Paralympic swimmer, I am currently in the mists of a lifestyle and works change. Swimming was my entire life for 10 years, so retirement is a huge alteration, but an exciting one too. At present, I spend my time doing the following:
· Working for Youth Sports Trust as an Athlete Mentor
· Studying for my masters degree
· Studying for five diplomas
· Studying to gain swimming coaching qualifications
· Travelling to make formal appearances and speeches
· Attending formal occasions
· Attending various meetings
· Trying to have some fun too!
Life may be busy, but I have a good sense of humour and like to keep as positive as possible at all times. The ideal candidate would share these attributes but be aware of times when it is necessary to be serious.
I enjoy: music, films, books, the theatre, the odd pint, food, laughing, making up words, shopping, sunshine and writing.
Job role:
Daily encounters for the successful applicants would include general tasks around the home, such as:
· Assisting me at work (if appropriate/necessary)
· Cleaning/tidying
· Laundry
· Cooking
· Shopping
· Making phone calls
· Organising of mail, books, clothes, and other household items
· Diary keeping/appointment booking
· Driving me and my car (if appropriate/necessary)
· Some DIY
· And any other request I deem to be reasonable
As mentioned earlier, the job role could involve a number of out of the ordinary situations, like accompanying me to an appearance at Downing Street (for example). If you were successful and I asked you to accompany me anywhere, you will be briefed (as far as possible) and I will ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
If you are interested in applying for this role please contact me on email on IB@fran-williamson.co.uk or call/text on 07793275147 and I will send you an application pack ASAP :)
